Description

For anyone supporting a trial of an AAC device, it is important to consider a number of key factors that can make the trial a positive and successful experience for the user and also the team around them. This course provides an outline of key considerations for teams supporting AAC trials and will help ensure that everyone has a clear understanding of what is required during a trial period.

This course is designed for beginners and anyone supporting a trial of an AAC device.


Course Outline

Learn about AAC trials in five lessons:

  • Trial readiness.
  • Goal setting.
  • Creating communication opportunities.
  • Common trial questions.
  • Planning for AAC after a trial.

Learner Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify 3 ways of recording evidence from a trial.
  • Define SMART Goals.
  • List two considerations for supporting AAC after a trial.

Completion requirements: You must complete all course content including reading all text and watching all video content, This course is assessed via a multiple-choice, five questions knowledge check at the end of the course. The pass score is 80%. You can take the knowledge check multiple times.
